Penicuik Silver Band are seeking a resident conductor to rehearse the band two nights aweek, as well as at concerts, public events, and contests. The Band has a long history as a communityband in the town of Penicuik, Midlothian and welcomes players of all ages and abilities. Inthe last five years, the band has twice gained promotion to the third section and in 2023represented Scotland at the British Championships. Midlothian’s oldest continuously running Brass Band , Penicuik Silver Band ( est1835) have gained promotion to  the 3rd section of the Scottish Brass Band  Association national league  after  the Scottish  national championships held in Perth Royal Concert Hall in March this year . The new  averaging system has meant a short  but  anxious wait to confirm that  the band has had the most consistent results of  competing bands in the fourth section over  the past two years. Yesterday the band contested up in Perth at the Band Supplied challenge cup.  The band came in a respectable 13th of 19 bands.  Although we missed out on the top prize in the 4th section we are delighted with how we performed and the result we got!
